His death notice in The Evening Post indicates that he died on May 26, 1855, in the 90th year of his age (The Evening Post, New York, N.Y., May 28, 1855).

TOMPKINS, Washington George Washington Tompkins was the husband of interviewee Charity Tompkins. He is listed as a 79-year-old farmer in the Town of White Plains, New York, in the 1850 United States Census. His tombstone in White Plains Rural Cemetery in White Plains indicates that he died on November 8, 1860, aged 83 years (WCHS Book #38, p. 132).

TOWNSEND, Sylvanus Sylvanus Townsend is listed as a 95-year-old resident of the Town of North Salem, New York, in the 1850 United States Census.

TRIPP, Abigail Abigail Platt Tripp was a daughter of Captain Benoni Platt, who served as an officer in the Westchester County Militia, and was the wife of Benjamin Tripp. John Macdonald indicated that she was 80 years old at the time of her interview on October 2, 1848. She is listed as a 90-year-old resident of the Town of North Castle, New York, in the 1850 United States Census. Her tombstone in the North Castle Quaker Cemetery in North Castle indicates that she died on April 1, 1856, aged 95 years, 4 months, and 29 days (WCHS Book #23A, p. 20).

TUTTLE, Elizabeth Elizabeth Archer Tuttle was a sister of interviewees Samuel Archer and William Archer.

UNDERHILL, Sophia Sophia Haight Underhill was a daughter of Samuel Haight and Rebecca Fowler, and was the wife of Jesse Underhill (son of Jacob Underhill and Amy Hallock). John Macdonald indicated that she was 83 years old at the time of her interview on October 16, 1848. According to genealogist Josephine C. Frost, she was born on January 11 or June 11, 1766, and died on May 17, 1849.
